Certificate in Eco-Building (Handbook Volume 1)
This Certificate Course utilises the Green Building Handbook Volume 1 as its study text and consists of five Learning Modules which are listed below. Each Learning module consists of approximately three relevant chapters of the Handbook and all five Modules must be completed in order to achieve certification.
After reading the relevant Handbook chapters for a particular Module, students logon and take an open-book test consisting of 25 questions. Answers are marked by the system immediately. The pass mark for each Module is 60%. This process is repeated until all 5 Modules have been studied and passed. Learning and testing may take place at the convenience of the student and is not timed. The only restriction is that the Certificate Course should be completed within 6 months of registration.
The Certificate in Eco-Building will provide students with an excellent basic knowledge of the environmental issues that are being faced within the built-environment and the key drivers of change. The Course not only provides students with practical advice on how to effectively tackle sustainability but also profiles issues from an academic/research vantage point. Students who study and pass the Certificate Course will be able to work and exchange ideas with built-environment professionals on all basic elements of sustainable construction.
Students who have achieved certification will be credited for all 5 Modules should they wish to continue on and study the Diploma in Eco-Building. Students who achieve certification will also be able to redeem 2,5 Category 1 CPD Credits.
