The fourth annual Green Building Conference and Exhibition offered delegates presentations from the world’s leading green building speakers as well as an extensive exhibition of green building products and services.

The Green Building Conference and Exhibition 2010 was the premier event for South Africa's leading industry designers, specifiers and decision-makers.Hosted in association with South Africa's industry professional institutes, the Green Building Conference and Expo 2010 once again attracted the leading decision making members of these organisations who are committed to learning about and embracing green building techniques.

Continuing Professional Development credits were available at the 2010 Conference while new format Workshop Breakout Sessions complemented the Plenary Sessions. Each Breakout Session was aligned with the newly launched Eco-Building Learning Modules which are also now accredited for Category 1 CPD for all Architectural Professionals by SACAP. Eco-Building Learning Modules also form part of the 10-Module Diploma linked course offered by alive2green.

World experts such as Dr. Ken Yeang and Mr. Christoph Ingenhoven, Dr Dirk Funhoff and Ryan Gravel as well as South Africa’s emerging Green Building personalities such as Michelle Garforth-Venter spoke in the Plenary Sessions. Delegates participated in the new format Workshop Breakout Sessions that were structured around CPD accredited Leaning Modules. The editorial objective of the SA Green Building Conference is to advance the uptake of green building and the market for green building in South Africa, and presentations therefore provided delegates with examples of successful green building projects and initiatives, detailing in a practical way the challenges and achievements in each case.

The Green Building Conference and Exhibition was held in association with South Africa’s industry professional institutes and attracted the leading decision making members of key organisations who are committed to learning about and embracing green building techniques. The wide variety of products on the exhibition floor made the event an ideal place to expose new green products to the industry.

Delegates were provided with four types of content that take into account the changing green building requirements of design and construction professionals in South Africa:

• Inspirational international presentations from star architects and designers

• Locally relevant plenary content from South Africa's thought leaders

• Emphasis on practical, locally applicable, case study-based break away sessions

• Current and new products, technologies and services available in South Africa
