It’s the small changes that can make a big difference in saving water (and money).

Something as simple as changing the tap on your sink or shower can help you cut your water consumption by up to 42%. In 1968 Danish architect and designer Arne Jocobsen designed the VOLA HV1 taps. Still The Bathroom Gallery displays these iconic taps in their showroom located at the Foundry, in the design-hub of Green Point in Cape Town.

The taps offer different valve options that allow the user to select the valve option most suitable for their purpose. An average wash basin mixer delivers 6 litres of water per minute but by simply changing the valve settings on the VOLA taps this can be brought down to 3.5 litres per minute (42% less) or even down to 1.9 litres per minute.

Replacing the small flow regulators on the taps allows for the flow of the VOLA taps/mixers to be easily reduced. Electronic VOLA taps have the option of flow times being set individually.

As the water stops automatically when the hands are removed water will be conserved in an efficient manner.

The VOLA taps are produced in a sustainable manner and have been certified according to ISO 18001 (work environment) and went through the approval process to get the green certificate (ISO 14001) in September 2009.
