What Can We Do to Protect the Climate?

In the future, energy efficiency will be the way to meet the growing energy demand and to protect the climate. This will enable us to curb the increasing global energy demand and CO2 emissions significantly by 2030.

With a range of solutions we actively contribute to climate protection and create opportunities in future markets. We invest more than a third of our research expenditures in energy efficiency, climate protection, conservation of resources and renewable raw materials.

Construction and Housing

Many of our products such as phase change materials or materials used to manufacture innovative thermal insulating foams are used for energy-efficient construction. The volume of insulating materials we sell annually saves more than five times the amount of greenhouse gases emitted by BASF every year.
